Short answer
Send an SMS to 30001 with N, a space and the application number from your online National ID form. The reply gives your 10-digit National ID number. If you enrolled at a District or Area Administration Office, the number was also given to you on the day. For other problems, call the department's helpline on 01-5970449.
The details
All the ways to get your number
| Method | How |
|---|---|
| SMS | Text N <application number> to 30001 |
| Viber or WhatsApp | Message 9851316034 or 9851316035 |
| Phone | Call 01-5970449 (call centre), 9847346412 or 01-4200014 |

The National ID number is a 10-digit number that never changes, even if details on your card are corrected later.
If you enrolled at a ward campaign
Numbers from ward-level campaigns aren't issued on the spot. They're sent by SMS some time later. If yours hasn't arrived, use the SMS lookup above with your application number before calling.
Common problems
I don't have my application number either.
Check the confirmation from when you filled in the online form, or the slip from your enrolment station. If you can't find either, call 01-5970449 or 01-4200014 with your citizenship certificate in front of you.
How do I know if my card has been printed?
You get an SMS when it's printed and ready to collect. Collect it in person from the place where you enrolled.
I need the number for a passport but the card hasn't come.
The passport application only needs the number, not the card. Use the number from the SMS or the enrolment slip.
I changed my phone number after enrolling.
SMS updates go to the number you enrolled with. Use the 30001 lookup or call the helpline to check your status, and ask the enrolment station to update your phone number.
