Good uses for Hello Sarkar

  • A passport, licence or citizenship file that hasn't moved for weeks.
  • Being asked for documents that aren't on the office's own list.
  • An office that's closed during working hours or refuses to take your application.
  • A local service like water or roads that's broken and nobody responds.

Hello Sarkar also has a category for "zero pending file" complaints, for files that offices are supposed to clear without delay.

Common problems

What makes a complaint get acted on?

Name the office, the service, the date you applied and any application or file number. Say what you've already tried and what you want done. Short and specific complaints are easier to forward and follow up.

It's about a bribe.

Report bribery and abuse of authority to the CIAA (107) instead. Hello Sarkar is for service problems, not corruption investigations.

It's a crime.

Go to the police. Call 100 in an emergency.

Nothing happened after my complaint.

Check its status on the portal. If the office hasn't acted, add a follow-up to the same complaint with the complaint number. You can also call the Hello Sarkar office on 01-5970087.
